But what is Orthopedic Surgery?
Orthopedic surgery is any surgery on the musculoskeletal system, which consists of bones, joints and muscles. Pets may require this type of surgery because of a recent injury, trauma or degenerative health condition. There are many different types of orthopedic surgeries that are available, depending on each pets' situation.

Dr Angela performs all the Orthopedic Surgeries at Maraboon Vet Surgery, with the assistance of a senior vet nurse. The procedure involves a pre-surgery consultation with Dr Angela to answer any questions you may have. We will admit your pet into the hospital where pre-surgery blood work and checks are completed. Pre-surgery medications will be given, an anesthetic will be administered, then the surgery will begin. After the surgery, Dr Angela will contact the owners with an update and our furry patients will stay in the hospital with us overnight.
On your pet’s surgery discharge, Dr Angela will answer any questions you may have and develop a post-operative recovery plan for you and your family to follow with our help. Within no time, they will be back running around and enjoying life.
